The Lipotherme™ laser technology is even more advanced than that of SmartLipo – the technology normally associated with lipo suction. Plano, Texas is home to our state-of-the-art facility where patients come from all over the state – as well as all over the country – to realize their goal of a smoother, thinner body.
Here’s how it works…
With lipo surgery, a small tube (measuring only 1 to 2 mm in diameter) that contains a laser fiber is inserted into the skin. As the tube is moved back and forth, laser energy is transmitted into the fat cells causing them to break apart so they can be excreted through the tube. Contact with laser energy results in blood vessels coagulating on the spot which minimizes bleeding, bruising, and swelling.
The size of the tube used in the Lipotherme™ laser lipo means that the procedure requires only local anesthesia allowing for low pain and quick recovery.
Like smart lipo, liposuction procedures using the Lipotherme™ are effective and long lasting. Because adults do not generate new fat cells the procedure is enough to eliminate the possibility of fat cell growth in the areas in which the procedure was performed.
There are, however, considerations when it comes to lipo surgery. Plano patients considering lipo suction should already be involved in a program of diet and exercise. Laser lipo is not a substitute for making healthy choices. If, however, you have areas on your body that have not responded to healthy eating and exercise, then you are likely a good candidate for the procedure. Laser lipo is most beneficial when used in tandem with conventional liposuction; it works best on smaller treatment areas such as the arms, neck, and face.
Because this is a minimally invasive procedure, because the instrument (tube) used is so small, because the procedure is relatively short (45 minutes to an hour per area) and because the patient only has to undergo local anesthesia, the recovery time for laser lipo is fast and relatively pain free. Patients will need to wear a compression garment and refrain from strenuous activities over the course of several weeks following the procedure. They will, however, begin to see results during that time period – making it a fast and effective procedure.
